
Keeping Things Warm (and Smart) Without the Headache
We build our infrared table heaters to take a beating. Between the dust and the damp, most heaters just give up and short out. That’s why we went with an IP55 rating. In plain English? It means the chassis can handle water splashes and grime without breaking a sweat. It’s the perfect setup for those “in-between” spaces—like a covered patio or a steamy bathroom—where a regular heater would basically be a ticking time bomb.
Heat That Actually Hits You
Here is the cool part: infrared doesn’t bother warming up the air. It sends out waves that warm you and your furniture directly. Because we use short-wave emitters, the heat is basically instant. You hit a button, and boom—you feel it. No more standing around waiting for the air to slowly circulate while you’re still shivering. It’s just fast.
Making it “Smart”
Getting these heaters to talk to your phone or voice assistant is pretty straightforward. We wire them into Zigbee or Matter controllers using a reliable relay or a dimmer. This means you can just tell your house to “warm up the patio” or tap an app, and the circuit closes, firing up the infrared tube. And if you’re feeling lazy (like I am), you can just let a temperature sensor do the work. Set it to 15°C, and the heater just kicks in on its own the moment it gets chilly.
A Few Things to Watch Out For
I should be honest about a couple of things. First, these heaters pull a lot of power. If you try to cram too many of them onto one smart circuit or use a cheap, thin smart plug, you’re going to trip your breakers.Check your electrical load before you go crazy with the installation. Also, while that IP55 shell is great for keeping water out, it can trap heat inside. We added aluminum heat sinks to keep the electronics from frying themselves, but they still need to breathe. Just make sure you leave a bit of room around the vents so the system doesn’t overheat and shut down right when you need it most.
