
Why we made our mirror heaters modular
Let’s be honest: bathrooms are brutal on electronics. You’ve got steam, humidity, and constant temperature swings. It’s a recipe for wear and tear. Usually, when a heating element finally gives out—maybe after five or six years—you’re stuck with a nightmare. You have to rip the entire mirror assembly out of the wall just to fix one tiny part. It’s a mess. We thought, there has to be a better way. So we built our infrared modules to be plug-and-play.
No more soldering in the dark
Instead of hard-wiring everything into a power rail, we use a modular chassis with standard connectors. Why does that matter? Because when a part fails, you don’t have to spend your afternoon soldering wires in a cramped, dark space behind a piece of glass. You just pull the old module out and drop a new one in. Simple. The infrared tech does the heavy lifting by warming the glass directly. It clears the fog without turning your whole bathroom into a sauna. We build these things to last, but let’s be real—no filament lives forever.
The reality of long-term use
Around the five-year mark, you’ll probably notice the performance dip. In a traditional system, that’s when you’d be shopping for a whole new mirror. With our setup, the “repair” takes a few minutes. Unplug the old piece, plug in the new one, and you’re back in business. Now, there is one catch. Because we use connectors instead of a flat soldered board, the heater is a tiny bit thicker. You’ll need a few extra millimeters of clearance behind the mirror to make room for the sockets. It’s a small trade-off for a huge amount of convenience.
Keeping the mirror on the wall
Whether you’re managing a whole building or just fixing up your own home, the goal is the same:don’t break the mirror. Taking a mirror off its mounting brackets is risky and a pain in the neck. We designed this to be serviced right where it sits. The hardware stays on the wall, and only the worn-out parts get tossed. It just makes sense.
